Nashville. A rapidly growing city that attracts millions of tourists per year, and this weekend I was one of them. Well, kind of! Since we live over an hour away, we rarely venture into the city. This weekend, however, we made an exception since we were venturing to see Kevin Hart! These plans allowed us to create a date weekend as an early celebration for our wedding anniversary.
Our weekend started with brunch at Fenwick’s 300. We started with an appetizer of beignets. They offer a few different options as far as beignets; we chose to stick to the classics. For our meals, I went with french toast, and Evan went with the chicken salad with a side of mac and cheese. We opted to go with ginger ale (served out of the glass) to drink.
The next stop on our weekend journey was to the Nashville Escape Game. We had heard a lot of good things and decided to try it for ourselves. We chose to do the Heist room and ended up with two other couples. Without divulging information about the room, I will say that it was a lot of fun! We were able to escape with the best time of the day! We had a blast and I can’t wait to try another one soon.
After we escaped, we headed right across the street to the Legendairy Milkshake Bar. I was NOT disappointed. Our experience was a good one. We started by hopping in line and looking at the large menu on the wall. Once we moved up enough we filled out our paper menu. At the counter we placed our orders; I ordered Death by Chocolate, and Evan got the Strawberry Cheesecake Milkshake. The milkshakes are $13, which is not bad when you account for size and presentation.
Once we finished our milkshakes, we headed over to check into our hotel where we changed for the Kevin Hart show. We chose to use UBER instead of driving which was a good choice considering the traffic we encountered. We had planned on doing a fine dining experience, but due to traffic, we adapted our plans and instead ate BBQ from Bridgestone Arena. Although it wasn’t our original plan for dinner, we enjoyed spending our time talking and eating before the show. Because Hart was doing new material, there was a strict no-phone policy. The show was hilarious and we didn’t stop laughing the whole time.
Sunday morning, we packed our hotel room back up and headed towards home. We stopped for lunch at a local Mexican restaurant here in Lewisburg before reaching our destination. I enjoyed our weekend away, and can’t wait to see the rest of the world.
